How to Change the World

Blogger Phil "Make It Great" Gerbyshak has a great post on how to change the world where he identifies actions anyone can take such as:

- Smile more
- Hug more
- Share more
- Serve others more

It reminds me of futurist Joel Barker's starfish story where a man, walking along a beach, comes across a huge number of starfish that were washed ashore. He starts throwing them back into the sea one by one. Another man comes along and asks the first guy, "Do you really think what you're doing is going to make any difference?" The star-thrower looks at the starfish in his hands and answers, "It will make a difference to this one."

Seems to me that what Phil is offering is the way to be a star-thrower. A way to make a difference one person at a time.

And the starting place is the man or woman in the mirror.

Thanks for sharing my story Terry. You're quite a star thrower yourself. Thanks for all you do to make it great!

Thanks, Phil.

At church this weekend, one of our sisters included the star thrower concept in a prayer service.

Talk about synchronicity!
